Still have questions? Find the answer in our FAQs.
How do I get a quote?
You will get our quote in writing via email.
Simply send us the details in advance by email or using the contact form, feel free to include your text, and we’ll get started.
Sometimes it’s easiest to discuss the initial issues on the phone. Just call us or make an appointment with us.
How quickly will I get a quote?
Once we have the initial information about your inquiry and the file to be translated, we get started right away.
You will receive your quote in just a few hours. Should it be a little more complex or if we have a
few questions for you, this may take a little longer. We will get in touch with you right after you
make your request.
What happens if I accept a quote?
Then we get going and you can focus entirely on your job – we’ll take care of your translation. We will discuss all the important points with you before quoting. Should there be any questions during the translation, we will of course get in touch. Otherwise, we will deliver the translation once it has been finished, and it will be in the format you ordered.
Will I have a dedicated contact person?
We specify which of our project managers is the best fit for you and your project, often as soon as we quote, but at the latest by the time the project begins. So you will always know who to talk to, from quote to invoicing. We also go one better and appoint a deputy who will be just as familiar with your project and able to step in at any time.
How long will the translation take?
If the text is difficult, extremely creative or to be translated into one of the rarer languages, we will discuss the precise delivery date with you in detail.
For standard texts into common languages, you can expect 1,500 words to take around two working days. Small texts such as teasers or posts can take even less time.
We will always agree the working time for your specific project with you. We have also been known to pull off the occasional miracle for those urgent jobs.
Do you offer express translations?
Yes, feel free to send us your text and desired date – we will check our workload and provide fast feedback on its feasibility. We cannot wave any magic wands, but sometimes we’re not so sure about some of our translators. They have conjured up some marvels now and again.
Which file formats can you translate?
PowerPoint, Word and InDesign are standard for us, but xml or PDF files are hardly rocket science for us, either. For the more tricky formats, we have technical experts who have so far not been outfoxed by even the crudest file type.
How much does a translation cost?
The precise cost of a translation depends on the type, word count and the difficulty of the text, and this is just how it should be.
We usually use price-per-word as a basis for translation calculations, but can also use price-per-hour for services that go beyond this.
Once you send us your texts, you will receive a quote for your specific project in a very short time. Want to see how fast? Drop in and see how we work for yourself!
What languages do you offer?
Let’s put it this way: we have not had to reject a single desired language in the last 20 years. We have in fact provided translations into 35 of them. Still have questions?
Do you also provide proofreading?
We not only provide proofreading, we absolutely recommend it. Our translations are done in line with the two-person rule, unless you explicitly reject it – maybe because you want to look over it yourself or know someone who will do this for you. We will, however, proofread the text you produce regardless of whether it will go on to be translated or not, because two heads are better than one and there’s nothing better than a fresh pair of eyes.
Do you provide layout work?
Our DTP specialists will of course take care of the layout of your file and in all languages, e.g. MS Office, InDesign and FrameMaker.
Who does your translations?
Our translators are all trained specialist translators and experts in their fields. They only translate into their native language. For your marketing texts, they have both the technical background and that special flair for making a text sound as if it had never been translated.
I have certain specifications for my project, can you handle these?
Of course. Tailor-made solutions are our speciality. We will discuss with you what is important to you and your project’s aims and design the right process together with you.
Do you work with machine translation?
Our translators are still humans, and that’s the way we like it. We gladly use technology where it makes sense to do so. Plus, our clients’ marketing translations simply demand that certain something, that special spark that current machines can rarely achieve.
However, let’s not beat around the bush. These machines are getting better all the time. We will keep an eye on the situation and see if your text is suitable for this and in what way. But one thing is certain – your machine translations are safe with us and will subsequently be checked over by our translators.
Hey communication gurus,
Did you know that something incredible happened when you were born? You were separated from a twin,
who now works at 2W Sprachmarkt!
Unbelievable, isn’t it?
Count yourself lucky that you have them by your side when outsourcing translations today.
By twin, we mean a member of our team who knows you inside out. They know the challenges you face and the way you run your agency business.
They don’t get their USPs confused with their ISPs, and know that the difference between the two is actually a million miles apart. Your
translation twin endeavours to ensure that alliteration, metaphors and imagery can be maintained – language permitting – through the art
of translation. With a copywriter in their corner, they move heaven and earth on your behalf. They fight for the text like you fight for a
pitch, and they make every second count. They have your back with ingenious ideas and a commitment to follow through on their promises. Your
2W Sprachmarkt twin calls this the
'Happiness Guarantee'.
Siblings in spirit
Companies and agencies lucky enough to have found their Sprachmarkt twin:
Tell us what you want from your translation.
Our creative flair is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Are you wondering whether the DNA of your twin at 2W Sprachmarkt has been genetically enhanced? Or perhaps they are driven by
other factors, such as PowerPoint presentations or agency caffeine? Who knows? To make a piece of communication work, it’s not
just about the words used. It has to be the right words.
They pass on their creative enthusiasm to our translators, so that the power of ideas transcends the other languages of your campaigns, websites,
social media, press releases and newsletters.
They ensure that the content is right and that it’s a good fit in the cultural context. Just think of all the translated slogans that have gone
down like linguistic lead balloons.
They can make your campaign lift off and customers abroad won’t even notice that the campaign has been
translated.
They manage to optimise texts in SEO and SEA processes, whilst ensuring that the copy is aligned within your brand tone of voice.
They will leave you in peace after the briefing and be back in touch when the project is complete.
They beaver away behind the scenes, dealing with everything from technologies to the intricacies of translating your text.
That’s our promise to you as your twin.
